Fewd Bite: Hiland Sour Cream Chive Dip

Hiland is a dairy company that is based in our hometown of Wichita, KS.  Hiland’s products are available all across the midwest, so you readers on the coasts may leave now (just kidding, stick around anyway!).  While once being known as a milk and dairy products company, Hiland has expanded to more varied products.  Dips are a Fewd Snob favorite, and a perfect Fewd Bite… Denny’s Thoughts:  Herman introduced me to Hiland Sour Cream Chive Dip.  The interesting thing is, I have a love/hate relationship with sour cream.  Sometimes I like it, and sometimes I don’t.  I certainly wouldn’t have…

Fewd Fight! Fireball Cinnamon Whisky

Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey has become very popular lately in the United States, as well as many other countries.  According to Fireball’s website, it originated in Canada.  You will notice that the word ‘whiskey’ is spelled without the ‘e,’ which is the proper spelling in Canada.  The whisky itself is Canadian, and it is aged in used American bourbon barrels.  The whisky is flavored using real Cinnamon. It seems like every time we’re in a bar, we see people ordering tons of Fireball shots.  The popularity has shot through the bar roof. And in good Food Fight fashion, we completely disagree……

Review: Oscar Mayer Baked Cooked Ham

A Fewd Snob loves sandwiches.  I don’t care if I buy them out, if they are pre-made, or if I make them (which I hate doing because yes, I am THAT lazy!), but I love sandwiches.  I’ll even try gas station sandwiches (within some kind of reason, of course!) Because of this sandwich fixation, I can stand at the deli counter and lunchmeat coolers at the grocery store for a long time.  And even when I am not buying lunchmeat, I usually walk through the aisle just to see if there is anything new. Oscar Mayer is best known for its…

Local Review: Dog-N-Shake

I’ve been looking forward to this one.  This will be the first local place we review on Fewd Snobs, and I think it’s the perfect choice.  If you are a native Wichitan, then you are most likely familiar with Dog-N-Shake.  As the name suggests, they are famous for their hot dogs and shakes.  They are by no means gourmet, but I also do not think of them as “fast food,” or at least not the kind we’re used to.  If you’ve ever had the pleasure of eating there, you know what I mean.  For those of you who haven’t, here…

Review: Coors Light Citrus Radler (New)

For our first Booze review, we are testing the new Coors Light Citrus Radler. Although the Fewd Snobs typically don’t review fruity beers, we couldn’t pass up a chance to drink in the middle of the afternoon.  And after all, it’s still Coors Light.  We saw it in the store, and had to try it out. Evidently, Coors wants to get into the seasonal brew market.  This is unusual for MillerCoors.  Budweiser has been doing their varieties for a while (Bud Light Lime, Bud Light Ritas).  This is one of the first attempts to compete by MillerCoors. We grabbed a…

Review: Art’s & Mary’s Herb Garlic Parmesan Chips

I am flying solo on this one.  My first review on my own.  Exciting, isn’t it?  Yes. A little history…I wasn’t familiar with Art’s & Mary’s chips until a while back.  Herman told me about them.  Art’s & Mary’s is a brand of kettle potato chips.  OK.  I kind of thought, “Big deal.  Another kettle chip.”  There are plenty of other brands available.  One of the most popular is Lay’s Kettle Cooked.  So how good could Art’s and Mary’s be? Plus, I thought that the whole kettle cooked chip deal might be overdone already.  Any self-respecting Fewd Snob likes regular…

Review: Tombstone Original Supreme Pizza

Yes, you read right.  We are reviewing a frozen pizza.  Not only is it a frozen pizza, but it’s a $3 frozen pizza.  And it is petty damn good. Nobody expects pizzeria quality pizza when cooking a frozen pizza.  And yet, for something you can stick in the oven and have ready in about 20 minutes as opposed to calling for delivery, waiting for it while taking a nap, and then it’s cold when it arrives, frozen pizza is sometimes an essential.  Plus, a delivery pizza is gonna cost about five times as much.  And it also is pretty good…
